Biomec Oxy Implant: A Journey of Innovation and Made in Italy Excellence
It all began in 1990, when two young technicians, Romolo Micheletti and Olivio Della Bella, driven by a clear vision and strong determination, founded a company with a clear goal: to create high-quality, precise, and reliable dental implants, while upholding the tradition of Made in Italy and focusing on fully in-house production.

Production process
Design
All products are developed internally by our Research & Development Department, which oversees every stage of the process: from material selection to industrialization, up to regulatory compliance and project sustainability. The development process is directly supervised by the founding partners, who bring over 35 years of industry experience and collaborate with qualified experts.
Production
We select top-tier suppliers for the procurement of raw materials, such as grade 4 titanium, 99.9% pure and cold-drawn to enhance mechanical strength by +40%. Thanks to state-of-the-art CNC machinery, we manufacture 100% of the components in-house, with dimensional tolerances in the order of a few microns, thereby ensuring high standards of quality, precision, and reliability.
Quality System
Biomec S.r.l. is the manufacturer and producer of the Oxy Implant implant system and directly manages the design, production, and commercialization of its devices at its headquarters in Colico (LC), Italy. Founded in 1990, the company launched the Oxy Implant brand in 2005, obtaining the CE marking, and in December 2022, achieved MDR certification, being among the first with production and headquarters in Italy to do so. Since 1998, Biomec has operated in compliance with the international standards ISO 9001 and ISO 13485, ensuring a solid and structured quality management system.
Quality control
Quality control of Oxy Implant products is structured into two fundamental phases. The first is a sampling inspection: every hour, the last piece produced is analyzed in the metrology lab using high-precision instruments. The second phase is the final inspection, carried out during the finishing stage: here, each component is carefully examined by specialized technicians. All control operations are documented and monitored by the Quality Manager, ensuring a total quality standard.
Surface treatment
AMS (Advanced Micro Surface) è una superficie innovativa sviluppata per gli impianti dentali Oxy Implant, ottenuta tramite un processo che combina attacco chimico, decontaminazione e trattamento al plasma di argon a freddo. Questo protocollo avanzato crea una microporosità controllata che favorisce l’adesione delle cellule osteoblastiche, stimolando efficacemente l’osteogenesi.
I vantaggi clinici comprendono un ancoraggio implantare ottimizzato e un tasso di successo significativamente più elevato. Tutti i trattamenti sono sottoposti a rigorosi controlli al microscopio e a verifiche periodiche per garantire qualità e prestazioni costanti nel tempo.
Package system
The outer packaging of Oxy Implant dental implants is made of cardboard and features a convenient tear-open system.
The graphics on the packaging clearly indicate the type of connection and the name of the implant line. The external labels show the color code and all specific implant data: description, code, production lot, expiration date, and manufacturer.
Inside the packaging is the vial containing the implant and the surgical screw, whose sterility is guaranteed for 5 years thanks to a Beta radiation sterilization process. Along with the vial, there are three adhesive labels with the implant description, code, and lot number, to be applied respectively on the clinical chart, the implant passport to be given to the patient, and any other documentation.

To reduce environmental impact, we have adopted sustainable technological solutions, including replacing a compressor with a more efficient one, LED relamping interventions, and installing a photovoltaic system. The project “Biomec S.r.l. Investments for Recovery 2022” was selected and funded by the Lombardy Region POR FESR 2014-2020 call.
