Immediate loading on mandibular overdenture

This case report presents an immediate loading procedure with removable lower complete denture. The use of single-stage implants eliminated the need for fixture submersion during healing.

A 68-year-old male patient in good general health presented to us complaining of discomfort caused by a recently performed lower complete denture, performed following the restoration of residual teeth. He reported difficulties due to prolonged edentulism and discomfort associated with excessive denture mobility, a condition that compromises chewing function and causes mucosal trauma. Physical examination revealed a thin residual ridge, which proved inadequate for proper support of the current prosthetic device.
